True Love

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is something i've often found hard to truly express.

I always concern myself with every little part of loving somebody, whether it be family or friends.

Lately my job has taught me a thing or two though. I work with the greatest kids in the world at Victory Christian Academy. I personally believe that my preschoolers are the coolest kids ever. But, one thing i've noticed about them since day one is that they truly know what love is.

Loving someone isn't saying the word over and over. It's something that requires time. A valuable lesson taught to me by my youth pastor, is that love is spelled T-I-M-E.

Nothing shows love more than the willingness to spend your time with that person. It's taken me years to learn that lesson, yet I knew it as a child. Any time my mom or dad would tell me they didn't have time to spend with me then it would break my heart, because i felt like they didn't love me enough.

It all makes me wonder how we make God feel. I know i've personally been guilty of waking later than i mean to and just telling God "I don't have time to spend with you today." We cause God's heart to be broken day after day.

So, today before you decide not to spend time with God, think about true love. For true love is not telling God every now and then that we love Him, but spending time with Him everyday instead.
